We went out to eat

I know that if the food is good, customers will overlook many other shortcomings. This was the case at the Riviera (Marina) Bar and Grill. When last we attended, sometime last season, the lagoon was littered with sunken derelict boats. This boat graveyard was juxtaposed with the very busy bar and grill. There is a tiki bar section with lots of outside tables and a more traditional inside area (which we have yet to use). Even yesterday, when it was cold, we ate comfortably outside.

Since our last visit, they have cleaned up the place. The sunken and derelict boats are gone. The beauty and opportunities of the site are now again visible. It looks as though they will be putting in new docks and getting the place to operate as a marina again. Here’s the math: Good food, friendly service, and pet-friendly (Rico was with us). We had a very nice time, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

If you are wondering, I had a crab cake appetizer and daily catch tacos (mahi mahi). I washed it down with a very nice margarita. Jimmie ordered a slice of their orange cake to share. When it came to me, I was tempted not to share it with anyone else. It was damn good.
