Today was the day we part company with Mary Lynn’s brother Allan and Anne. They will tour Nashville for one more day and fly back to their vehicle in Detroit on Saturday morning. We had breakfast in the hotel…the Waffle House is just up the street. Our goodbyes said we left for the drive back to FRACAS. We did have one stop planned. I wanted to get a mobile hotspot from Verizon to help us stay connected with home on this trip and our time in the U.S. Verizon had the best coverage and unit to do this with.
On the way to Nashville we stopped at the Verizon store in Clarksville. I spent an hour in there just to find out that the Verizon network for prepaid devices was down and they had no idea when they would be able to sell the unit. I told them I would stop back in on our return trip and we did. I spent another hour in the VERIZON store in CLARKSVILLE only to discover that the unit I wanted was not available prepaid. AT&T has the second best coverage so we went to their store. They use the I store method and I spent 90 minutes while my associate learned about what I wanted. She made 13 trips into the back room to consult with her trainer. Only after 70 minutes did the guy come out and try to placate me.
I have the unit and as yet I have been unable to connect to anything with it. JEEZUZ
We provisioned today and have discovered that the price of beef is very high…even higher than in Little Current. Gas however is 2.99 per U.S. gallon.
