LVXI – Pisgah Bay to Little Crooked Creek

Thursday October 16, 2014

I am connected using the AT*T thing and will not be able to post pictures until we either get a better connection or wifi somewhere. It was a much better morning, we could see and it wasn’t raining. Solid cloud cover until about 1:00, the sun came out and it warmed up considerably. I can report to those of you on Manitoulin who are busily building their arcs…we did see the sun and it did not rain.

We crossed into Tennessee down near the lower end of Kentucky Lake. We managed to do 54 statute miles today. We are pushing against a current that is from 1 to 1.5 nm per hour. Like going up a small hill. We understand that this will only get stronger the closer we get to the Pickwick Lock and Dam.

We are steaming to meet up with Pete and Judy on Saturday or Sunday. We will likely meet up with them in Pickwick Lake but Savannah Tennessee is in the running if we can find a spot to get to them.

It is a beautiful morning here, still waters, fish jumping, stars, moon and coffee. We will begin this trek anew when the Admiral gets up.

Fracas is working beautifully.
