Day Twenty Five: 13:25 Roadtown, Tortola

We are in the departure lounge of the ferry terminal waiting for our ferry to Charlotte Amalie USVI. WE HAD A SCARE THIS MORNING. We called Smith’s Fast Ferry who sold us round trip tickets. At 8:45 those bastards told us their only ferry was 9:30. We questioned her and she hung up on us. Did I mention it was SMITHS FAST FERRY. We arrived and purchased tickets from Roadtown Fast Ferry and Mary Lynn tried to get a refund from those Smiths. Smiths then told us our tickets could be used on Roadtown Fast Ferry.
Obviously there is collusion and a lottery to see what company runs when. It would have been helpful if the incompetent lady had mentioned that this morning.
There are two on the list now: Liat (the airline) for their spontaneous and flexible ( to suit them) luggage rules. Now SMITHS FAST FERRY…
Use caution in any transaction in the Caribbean. The more I read the more I discover how notorious these ferries are. No round tickets should be purchased, not worth the potential hassle. Always call the day of the trip to confirm the time.
So in summary…use caution, read everything and ask lots of questions if travelling by Liat or BVI ferry.
End of rant.
