Remembrance Day – Veteran’s Day

Friday November 01, 2016 – From the yard

howard-elliottAs you all know today is Remembrance Day in Canada and Veteran’s Day here in the United States. This year we posted pictures related to ML’s Dad’s service during WWII. He served on three ships from 1941 to the end of the war on convoy duty in the North Atlantic.

Sailing in the North Atlantic on a Canadian corvette or destroyer would have been terrible enough without the threat from U boats. I never met ML’s Dad as he passed away.

Howard served on three ships including the Kamsack a ‘flower’ class corvette and the Iroquois, a Tribal Class destroyer. The Iroquois was the first ship in the class and had her fair share of problems subsequently fixed in later ships.
