LXXXV – Turner Marine day II

poppy
11th hour of the 11th day the 11th month

I am concerned that we will not be able to find poppies to wear for Remembrance Day. I will make a serious effort here, but in the U.S. they wear poppies to remember and honor their war dead on Memorial day last Monday in May. They honor all veterans on Veterans Day, November 11th and poppies are not usually worn. From what I read it appears that patriotism, remembrance and thanks for all our services is extremely high back home. This follows the despicable act of cowards on our Memorial to the fallen in Ottawa. I will wear a poppy even if I have to make one.
