I’m assuming that you all made it through the partying and craziness that is ground hog day. We seem to have a bit of a split decision with two of the furry vermin seeing their shadows and two not so much. I guess we’ll just have to tough it out here unsure what will happen just like we always do. On the weather front, we are having some better weather in that the solar panels are actually working.
We have been struggling with where we will end up at the end of this season. In the end it is the continuing sagging Canadian Peso that has made the decision for us. Boat yard fees in the BVI are about 1.5 to 2 times higher than in Florida and they also use the U.S. dollar as their currency. Factor in the value of the Cdn Peso and it would be outrageous in our dollars to go to the BVI this year. We are already taking a major hit here with the already higher prices compounded with the Canadian peso.
Now we have to decide where in Florida we will go. I need to find a yard that will allow us to work on our own boat and stay on Fracas for a short time while we work on her in the yard. So shopping for a marina in Florida, we are open to suggestions and reviews.
