My Dad emigrated to Toronto from New Brunswick in 1951ish to work for his uncle who operated a Studebaker and Packard dealership in Toronto. The dealership was located at 291 Jane Street which is the present site of the High Park Day school. He worked at this garage until 1957 when he packed us all up and moved to Manitoulin to work at Acme Motors.

Studebaker was in business from the mid 1800’s through 1964. Initially they were a builder of horse drawn vehicles. For a time they had the largest factory under a roof in North America. I hope this Studebaker phase I’m going through will end soon.

Some of the Studebaker cars he would have worked on from 1951 through 1957. Great looking cars.

They also sold Packards. The Packard company was winding down and produced cars until 1958. The last few years of Packards were produced by and with Studebaker
