LVXXV – Columbus Ms. to Pickensville Ms.

Thursday October 30th, 2014

Today is Halloween eve? Tomorrow night, Halloween we will be at anchor with nowhere to trick or treat. Damn.

Today we left Columbus Marina our home for the past four nights. Pete and Judy left to continue on to Arizona, we heard today that they will arrive there tomorrow by noon. T at Columbus marina was great. He was friendly and helpful.

We topped up with fuel this morning and T added a little extra discount for cash. This fuel load should get us to the Bahamas and beyond.

It was cool on the river this morning and I had to resort to pants for the third time on this trip. There is a forecast for high wind and potential frost Friday Saturday. I hear that you folks back up north are likely to get snow or are getting snow. Me and the geese gotta hurry south to get out of this stuff.

I was quite impressed with the snagboat that is drydocked and on display here at the Bevill lock. You get the run of the boat on a self guided tour. They were quite the ship. She was an authentic steam paddle wheeler.

More from the river later…almost boater midnight
